Randy Bender has been a Commercial Sales Specialist at the Belle Vernon branch of Laurel Highlands Insurance Group LLC for four years now. Prior to working at our agency, he worked for another insurance agency on weekends and at a steel mill on weekdays. When the steel mill closed down, he was offered a fulltime insurance position, allowing his career to fall into his lap. Now he does a lot of service work for customers, holds safety meetings, partakes in risk management, delivers policies, reviews coverage with customers, and does bench marking for potential customers. Randy likes having the opportunity to sell commercial lines because he can make close relationships with his clients. He starts off as just the “insurance guy”, but gives his clients his cell phone number so they can call him anytime they have a question. There isn’t any client that Randy doesn’t consider a friend.
Outside of work, Randy spends most of his time with his kids, whom he does everything for. His son plays travel baseball, so they take him back and forth to practices and games. When they have out of state tournaments, Randy and his family like to explore the outdoors, hike, ride bikes, and swim.
The best part about working in insurance for Randy is that every appointment and meeting is different; he’s able to sit with intelligent business owners to learn what makes them successful. Following in the footsteps of his strong-willed father, Randy always does what he believes to be right and never gives up on his goals.
